Short Poems About Birds

heron_1

Today I thought I’d continue with a few more poems about birds, from different seasons, here in Wisconsin USA. Hope you enjoy the post. Blessings, Ellen

mid-August
hearing fewer birds
in the morning choir

mid-day sun
in the south window
geese in flight

the faith of birds
trusting in seed
under snow

in the backyard
birds back
and singing
never too old
to find this new

skeins of geese flying
to our neighbor Canada
a brand new chapter
books arriving in the mail
songs of beauty and courage

robin on the branch
outside my window
rain-washed air

early prayers
and thoughts to God
two herons in the sky
